Oculus has been working on the cable connection between the VR headset and the device for quite some time to achieve more freedom of movement during use, mainly to simplify the setup process. The Facebook company has always spoken openly and even presented a prototype to the press: named "Project Santa Cruz."
The announced Oculus Go is placed between the Rift and the Gear VR. Specifically: a Gear VR, which dispenses with the smartphone. At the beginning of 2018, the set will be available to buy, for $200.
Oculus uses a unique fabric, which is made to fit your facial shapes and is, therefore, comfortable. Also, the holding strap is elastic. The optical components were developed from the ground up. Although the field of view was not changed compared to the Rift, the new components should significantly reduce the aperture effect.
In the Oculus Go you can also change the sound. For the Rift you need separate headphones, in the Go all are already integrated. This also means that spectators, can follow the action on a monitor, and can also hear the sound. A special developer kit will be available in November.
